Sir Alex Ferguson calls on 'sunbathing' Manchester United fans to voice their support against Chelsea

Alex Ferguson has called on Manchester United fans to voice their support for the club when they take on Chelsea at Old Trafford in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.

The Red Devils managed to win the first leg at Stamford Bridge by a slender one-goal margin, and will clash in the return against Carlo Ancelotti's men on Tuesday in the hope of booking a place in the last four of the prestigious European tournament.

The Scot was unhappy with his team's 2-0 victory over Fulham on Saturday and has expressed the hope that the "sunbathing" fans were saving their best for the all-important midweek tie.

"I don't think it was a job well done at all," said Ferguson, according to The Daily Mail.

"We were a bit casual and wasted possession in the second half. We could have suffered for it but at this time of the season winning is the name of the game.

"The fans were quiet, they were sunbathing. Maybe they were saving their voices for Tuesday. They'd better be."
